Department of Chemistry at FFCLRP-USP
LOS is placed in the Department of Chemistry at Faculty of Philosophy, Sciences, and Letters, which is held on the beautiful campus of University of São Paulo (USP) in Ribeirão Preto. USP is the most prestigious university in Latin America and it is ranked among the top 120 universities in the world QS World University Rankings for proportionate research impact in science.
The Department of Chemistry (http://quimica.ffclrp.usp.br/) is a research-intensive unit that is dedicated to boasting ample new research and teaching space, and offering outstanding research opportunities within the areas of health, energy, and materials chemistry. The Department counts with more than 40 enthusiastic, very effective, and full-time dedicated researchers in the fields of Organic Chemistry, Physical Chemistry, Biochemistry, Inorganic Chemistry, and Analytical Chemistry.
By means of its Post-Graduation course, the Department of Chemistry has allowed for the undergraduate, MSc and Ph.D. students over the four decades. Besides a modern analytical center, the department has more than 20 research laboratories with a complete research structure. All the projects developed in the Department of Chemistry are financed by Brazilian institutions (FAPESP, CNPq, and CAPES) and partnership with companies.
